Delineation of Forest boundaries in Village Maps as per Forest Working Plan

On the request of Karnataka Forest Department, the KSRSAC has taken up a work to delineate notified forests falling in 10893 villages/village maps.
Objectives
- Georeferencing of village maps of the forest area
- Generation of forest boundary on cadastral map using forest working plan
- Preparation of village-wise forest map overlaid on Cartosat image, PAN maps/survey numbers, 2.5 m
Study Area
Karnataka state has been divided into 30 districts (revenue), 40 Forest divisions and 26 wildlife sanctuaries (KFD) for administrative purposes. Approximately 11000 out of 33000 villages are in forest area.
Deliverables/Output
Soft copy of georeferenced individual Cadastral village with Forest Boundary incorporated in shape file format, Datum: WGS84

Summary of the Work Completed
The work has been completed. The forest boundary was delineated in the village maps. The number of village maps generated by incorporation of forest boundaries is given below, district-wise.
